Bulgarian Folklore Vocals: The Voice of Vanya
You know I love bringing you sounds that are rare and unique. This is a sample pack we’ve spent literally years working on, even though it didn’t start out as a sample pack at all. These are collections of vocals recorded over the years by my dear friend, the amazing Vanya Triffonova - a professional folklore singer.
She has appeared on many releases on our label, including “Svashke” with Neznaen and “Vchera” with EVG. I’m also deeply grateful to another dear friend, Simoo, for taking the time to organize and record an additional session with Vanya especially for this sample pack.
These are all Bulgarian folklore songs (in the public domain), recorded in Bulgaria by Bulgarian artists. We’ve collected some of the more popular songs that people still sing to this day at weddings and other celebrations, as well as others that may be lesser known but are equally beautiful and full of character. The sample pack includes more: adlips, vocal phrases and cut/fx loops.
I’ve also included both the original Bulgarian lyrics and English translations in PDF format. The idea is to give producers proper context and understanding of what each song is about when sampling and using these vocals in their own productions. This way, there’s no need to guess or worry about unintentionally using words that might feel out of place, inappropriate, or culturally insensitive.
